Samsung Galaxy A8 crams 16-megapixel camera and microSD slot into 5.9mm-thick frame

After leaking out several times in recent months, Samsung’s super-thin Galaxy A8 is now official.

The Samsung Galaxy A8 has a body that measures just 5.9mm thick, but it manages to cram some respectable features into that thin metal frame. The A8’s got a 5.7-inch 1920x1080 Super AMOLED display, 16-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front cameras, 16GB/32GB of storage, and a microSD card slot. Powering the A8 is an octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor, 2GB of RAM, a 3050mAh battery, and Android 5.1.1.

The Galaxy A8 will be offered in white, black, and gold color options in China. There’s no word on when or if it’ll launch in other regions.

While it may not be as high-end as some of Samsung’s other Android phones, the Galaxy A8 is an impressive device that manages to cram some nice upper mid-range features into a crazy thin body. Plus, it offers a microSD card slot, something that Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S6 lacks.

Would you buy the Samsung Galaxy A8 if it were available to you?
