Ever since its launch, the Chromecast has required you to connect it to Wi-Fi in order to have it get content onto your TV. But not anymore!
Google today added the Ethernet Adapter for Chromecast to its official online shop. The product is exactly what it sounds like, offering a way to connect a wired Ethernet cable to your Chromecast and get it online without Wi-Fi. You simply plug the Ethernet cable into the wall plug, hook the USB end into your Chromecast, and you’re good to go.
The Ethernet Adapter for Chromecast will set you back $15, but as of this writing, it’s showing as “Currently out of stock.” It’s possible that that’s just because the product just launched, though, and that stock will appear shortly. So if you’ve got a Chromecast in an area with weak Wi-Fi or you would rather just get your Chromecast online with a wired connection, hit up the Ethernet Adapter for Chromecast’s product page on using the Google Store link below!
