HTC Aero rumored to include new camera technology

The HTC One M9 has caught a lot of flak for its camera performance, and while HTC has updated its flagship with camera improvements, it’s hard for the One M9 to shake its past. According to a new rumor, HTC is planning a totally refreshed camera experience with an upcoming device, possibly in an attempt to turn around the conversation about its camera capabilities.

A report from HTCviet claims that the upcoming HTC Aero will offer a camera experience with a new user interface and the ability to take high-quality photos in low light. The Aero’s shooter will reportedly have an aperture of f/1.9 as well as RAW image support, a feature that was recently added to the One M9.

The camera capabilities of the HTC One flagships have always been hot topics, with HTC opting to use a 4-megapixel UltraPixel sensor in the One M7 and M8, and then the One M9 switching to a 20-megapixel sensor. The cameras on those devices have never really been considered top of the class performers, but the shooter on the One M9 has perhaps caught the most flak of them all. That’s why it wouldn’t be a surprise to see HTC place a lot of focus on the camera in this new Aero, and while it remains to be seen if it will indeed have a new camera experience, it’d definitely be interesting to see what kind of new camera that HTC could come up with.
