Android 5.1.1 begins its rollout to US Cellular Galaxy S6, S6 edge

If you’ve got a Galaxy S6 or Galaxy S6 edge running on US Cellular’s network, you’ve also got an update headed your way.

US Cellular has updated its Android Downloads page to show that its Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge are getting Android 5.1.1. The Galaxy S6 will be updated to baseband G920R4TYU2BOF7, while the Galaxy S6 edge will be bumped to baseband G925R4TYU2BOF7.

As for what’s included in the updates, US Cellular hasn’t posted a changelog, so it’s not totally clear what goodies you USCC Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge owners will get. We do know that you’re getting the absolute latest public version of Android, though, and that alone is worth getting excited about.

To check for an update on your Galaxy S6 or Galaxy S6 edge, just connect to Wi-Fi and go into Settings > About device > Software update.
