We’ve seen a couple of different Android TV boxes arrive in recent months, but if you’d rather buy a whole new TV with Google’s software baked right in, you’ll soon be able to get some new Sony hardware.
Sony’s X900C 4K Ultra HDTVs are now available for pre-order from several retailers, including Amazon. Pricing is set at $2,499.99 for the 55-inch model, while the larger 65-inch version will set you back $3,999.99. Both models are expected to begin shipping on July 19 and include 4 HDMI ports, 3 USB ports, support for the PlayStation Now service for streaming PS3 games, and Google’s Android TV software, all packed into body that’s just under 0.2 inches thick.
If you’d prefer an even larger screen, Sony says that its 75-inch X910C 4K Ultra HDTV will be available this summer for $5,499.
Obviously Sony’s new Android TV sets are pricey, but they also pack high-end tech like 4K video resolution and PS3 game streaming into a super-thin body with big screens. And since they’ve got Android TV built in, these sets could give you a better Smart TV experience than most other televisions out there.
