We’ve already got the HTC One M9+ and the HTC One E9+, and now a report claims that HTC is working on a new device called the HTC One ME9.

According to @upleaks, the HTC One ME9 is a new smartphone that runs Android 5.0 on a 5.2-inch 2560x1440 display. The front of the phone will house either a 4-megapixel UltraPixel camera or a 13-megapixel shooter, likely varying between markets. The rear of the phone will house a 20-megapixel camera sensor made by Toshiba. Finally, the front of the phone looks like it’ll house a fingerprint ready smack dab in the middle of the bottom BoomSound speaker.

Reportedly powering the HTC One ME9 is a 2.2GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6795 processor, 3GB of RAM, and a 2900mAh battery. Rounding out the ME9’s spec list is said to be 32GB of storage, Bluetooth 4.1, a 2900mAh battery, and a microSD card slot, all of which is wrapped in a phone with a metal frame and polycarbonate rear.

The HTC One ME9 is allegedly going to launch in Classic Rose Gold, Gold Sepia, and Meteor Gray color options at a price of 3500 Chinese Yuan, which is around $564. Unfortunately, the ME9 isn’t expected to arrive in the U.S. or EMEA, with launches planned only for Asian markets like Hong Kong and Taiwan sometime in June.

As its name suggests, the One ME9 looks a bit like a combination of HTC’s One M9+ and One E9+, combining features like the screen and fingerprint sensor of the One M9+ with the body and camera of the One E9+. It’s this combination of features that could make the One ME9 a desirable option for a lot of folks, but it sounds like the ME9 will be unavailable to much of the world. That’s definitely a bummer, but HTC often keeps One variants specific to certain parts of the globe, so it’s also not terribly surprising.
