HTC M9e leaks with high-end specs wrapped in a plastic shell

Following the debuts of the One M9 in March and the One M9+ in April, a new leak has revealed what appears to be another One M9 variant.

Chinese regulatory body TENAA has outed images and details of a device referred to as the “M9e.” The phone looks like a Duo-Camera-less, plastic version of the M9+, rocking a fingerprint reader and BoomSound front-facing speakers. Looks aren’t the only thing that the M9e shares with the M9+, though, as this unannounced phone also is said to have a 5.2-inch 2560x1440 display, 2.2GHz octa-core processor, 20-megapixel rear camera, UltraPixel front-facing shooter, a microSD card slot, and 3GB of RAM.

Details on when and where the M9e will launch and how much it’ll cost when it does aren’t included in this TENAA listing, but considering its plastic body, it seems likely that it’ll be a bit cheaper than the metal-bodied M9+ that was announced last month. Here’s to hoping that now that the M9 is starting to pass certification, we get some official news on it and its release plans soon.
