Sprint customers are now going to connect to free, easy access to Wi-Fi when they’re in an airport.
Sprint has struck a multi-year deal with Boingo that’ll provide Sprint customers with free access to Boingo Wi-Fi hotspots in 35 U.S. airports. Sprint didn’t specify which airports are covered, but it did say that they’re “major” airports. Sprint devices will automatically connect to the hotspots when they get within the proximity of the network’s reach.
While many airports offer free Wi-Fi access, they typically require you to sit through a login process that may include ads, and the free service may not always be super-fast. With this Boingo deal, Sprint customers needn’t worry about logging in, and if the Wi-Fi that’s available isn’t particularly fast, they can stay on the faster cellular connection.
