One week ago, the OnePlus One’s long-awaited Cyanogen OS 12 update began rolling out, bringing One owners a tasty Lollipop treat. Just seven days after the push began, though, it’s been put on hold.
OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei says that the Cyanogen OS 12 over the air update has been paused so that an “Ok OnePlus” voice command can be added. Pei says that the update should resume in the middle of the week and that anyone that’s already gotten Cyanogen OS 12 will still get the “Ok OnePlus” feature as an OTA update. Pei went on to say that the voice command will work even when the One’s screen is off.
I’m sure that there are some OnePlus One owners that are bummed to hear that their Cyanogen OS 12 update is on hold after the update took so long to begin rolling out in the first place. The good news is that it’s expected to be paused for jut a couple of days rather than a week or more. And hey, you One owners will have another feature once the OTA gets underway again.
