Earlier this year, Dell launched what may be its most attractive Android devices to date in the Venue 8 7000 Series. The device got a lot of attention at least in part because of its thinness, both when it comes to its screen bezels and its overall body thickness. Now Dell has followed up on the Venue 8 7000 Series with another high-end Android tablet.
The Dell Venue 10 7000 is an Android 5.0.2 tablet with a 10.5-inch display that’s got a resolution of 2560x1600, the same as the 8-inch Venue 8 7000. The Venue 10 7000 also has an 8-megapixel Intel RealSense depth-sensing camera like the Venue 8 7000 before it. Rounding out the Venue 10 7000’s spec list is a quad-core Intel Atom Z3580 processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB or 32GB of storage, a microSD slot, a 2-megapixel front-facing camera, and a body that's 6.2mm thick. There’s also a 7000mAh battery powering that whole package.
You’re probably wondering about the big cylinder on the side of the Venue 10 7000, right? Well, it actually serves many purposes. Not only does it include the tablet’s front-facing speakers, but it also serves to prop up the Venue 10 7000 when it’s laying down and lets the slate dock into Dell’s keyboard accessory.
This whole package will set you back $499 when it launches in May, or a cool $629 if you’d like to include that keyboard accessory. That seems like reasonable pricing for an Android tablet that’s as specced out as the Venue 10 7000 is, and while the 10-inch tablet may not be quite as handsome as the Venue 8 7000, the larger model has a physical keyboard dock available that should make it easier to get some work done.
