Turns out that today is a bigger day for mobile photography enthusiasts than originally though, because not only are some new VSCO Cam presets here, but Instagram is adding a couple of new features too.
Instagram says that it’s adding Color and Fade tools to its apps for Android and iOS. Color lets you tint the highlights or shadows in your photos using yellow, orange, red, pink, purple, blue, cyan, or green, and the Fade tool lets you soften the colors in your images.
In addition to these new photo adjustment tools, Instagram is rolling out a new kind of alert. You can now choose to be notified when an account posts a new photo or video by tapping on the three-dot options menu on an account, then clicking Turn On Post Notifications.
Instagram says that its new Color and Fade tools are now rolling out to Android users as an update to version 6.19.0. Those new tools will hit iOS in “a few days” as an update to version 6.10.0. Meanwhile, the post notifications feature is available now.
