Heads up, Twitter users, because there’s a refreshed Quote Tweet feature that’s rolling out now.
Twitter’s new Quote Tweet feature will embed a tweet below your text. Previously, selecting Quote Tweet would simply put the original tweet in quotation marks, which could end up leaving you with very few characters to add. As you can see in the screenshots above, the new Quote Tweet feature leaves you with 116 characters. I tried the new Quote Tweet on many different tweets, including ones with and without images, and was consistently left with 116 characters to add.
This new Quote Tweet feature is big for a couple of different reasons. Not only will it often leave you with more characters to add yourself, but it makes quoted tweets look much nicer since they’re embedded rather than just enclosed in quotation marks.
Twitter says that this new Quote Tweet is now rolling out to users on the web and on the iPhone. Android users will get it “soon.”
