Now that we’re one week away from the start of Apple Watch pre-orders, it’s about time for you to decide whether or not you’re going to reserve a unit. Apple wants to help you make that decision with some videos.
Apple has posted several Getting Started videos that demonstrate how to use basic features of the Apple Watch. There are currently four videos available: Welcome, Messages, Faces, and Digital Touch. Welcome is a lengthy video that touches on many Apple Watch features and gestures; the Messages video covers viewing texts and sending responses with text, voice, or animated emoji; the Faces video shows off how you can change and customize your watch face; and the Digital Touch clip demonstrates how you can communicate with your friends, including sending them sketches, taps, or your heartbeat.
Apple’s got seven more Apple Watch videos that’ll likely go live as we get closer to the start of pre-orders. The other topics that Apple plans to cover are Phone Calls, Siri, Maps, Music, Apple Pay, Activity, and Workout.
So far, Apple has briefly shown off some of the Apple Watch’s features on stage, but it hasn’t really gone terribly in-depth with the core features of the watch. That’s what these videos are for. They also want to help viewers understand why they would want an Apple Watch and how the device could make their lives easier.
