After pushing several new Android apps to Google Play yesterday, HTC has added more more app to the store and launched a major update to an existing app.
First up, HTC Dot View has received a big ol’ update that includes support for playing games on the Dot View case as well as displaying a scrolling message. Also included is support for animated themes and a “special surprise” on your birthday. On the more practical side of things, HTC Dot View supports turning on your speaker during a phone call, controlling your flashlight and voice recorder, snoozing alarms, and showing more notification icons.
Getting back at the “games” portion of that update, HTC Dot Breaker is a new app that’s hit Google Play. The game is a Dot View version of the popular game Breakout that tasks you with bouncing a ball off of your moving platform in order to break tiles.
HTC’s Dot View cases were already interesting options for protection because of their ability to show alerts and let you take calls, all without uncovering your phone. Now you can do even more stuff with a Dot View case, including play a classic game, making the Dot View a pretty compelling option if you’ve got a One M8 or plan to buy a One M9.
