After making a debut with at-home press conferences last month, the Moto E (2nd Gen.) has now made its way onto a U.S. carrier’s shelves.
The Moto E (2nd Gen.) is now available in white on Boost Mobile and in black on Sprint Prepaid. The black version will also launch on Virgin Mobile on March 9. No matter which model you choose, though, the price will be the same: $99.99 without a contract.
Motorola’s new Moto E (2nd Gen.) improves on the original model with a bigger screen, a front-facing camera, and LTE connectivity. Its spec list includes a 4.5-inch 960x540 touchscreen and VGA camera on its face and a 5-megapixel shooter around back. Inside the device lives a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of storage, a microSD card slot, 4G LTE connectivity, and a non-removable 2390mAh battery. The new Moto E (2nd Gen.) also comes with Android 5.0 out of the box.
Some folks might dismiss the Moto E (2nd Gen.) because of its low price, but the phone is actually pretty solid. I’m in the process of reviewing the new Moto E for our sister site Android and Me, and so far I’ve been impressed with the new Moto E’s build quality and battery life. So if you’re in the market for a new smartphone that’s easy on the wallet, the Moto E (2nd Gen.) is definitely worth a look.
