It looks like the stable of Android Wear device makers is about to grow.
Two new videos have been posted to Huawei’s official YouTube channel that show off the “Huawei Watch,” a new Android Wear-powered smartwatch. The first video highlights the features of the Huawei Watch, including activity tracking, Google Now, notifications, and a “timeless design.”
The second clip focuses on the design work that went into creating the Huawei Watch. Huawei says that it stuck closely to traditional watch design with its wearable. For example, since many standard watches are round, Huawei chose a round design for its watch. Huawei also reveals that its Watch has a 42mm face, stainless steel unibody case, and sapphire glass surface. When it comes to bands, Huawei plans to offer straps with different materials and designs for both men and women.
The Huawei Watch looks like a nicely-designed Android Wear smartwatch for folks that want a wearable that doesn’t look like a smart gadget. There’s no word on when the Huawei Watch will launch or how much it’ll cost when it does, but I’m sure that we’ll hear more from Huawei shortly.
