Kazam, company with former HTC execs, intros several new Androids and Windows Phones

Kazam is a relatively new manufacturer in the mobile space, having launched in Europe in November 2013. The company’s got some notable executives, though, including CEO Michael Coombes, who previously served as HTC’s Head of Sales for the U.K. and Ireland, and CMO James Atkins, who used to be Head of Marketing for HTC U.K. and Ireland. And while Kazam may be somewhat new, that doesn’t mean that they’ve got a small product portfolio.

Kazam today pinged me to announce that its got new six new phones in its Android-powered Trooper section, two new Windows Phone devices, and a new flip phone. There are a lot of specs to run through, so let’s break ‘em down bullet style:

  • Thunder 450WL (pictured below): 5-inch 1280x720 display, 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor, 8GB of storage, microSD slot, 1GB of RAM, 8-megapixel rear and 2-megapixel front cameras, FM radio, 2500mAh battery, LTE, and Windows Phone 8.1.

Feature phone

  • Life C6 (shown below): 2.4-inch 320x240 display, 611MHz single core MTK6276W processor, 128MB of storage, microSD slot, 32MB of RAM, 1.3-megapixel camera, FM radio, 800mAh battery, 3G, and a proprietary Nucleus OS.

Kazam has also created a trio of Windows 8.1 tablets — the L10, L8, and L7 — that feature displays ranging in sizes from 7 inches to 10.1 inches, Intel Baytrail processors, front and rear cameras, microSD slots, and dual speaker setups.

Most of Kazam’s Android phones are on the entry-level side of things, but they do include microSD slots and some have 4G LTE connectivity, which are nice inclusions. It’s also nice that they come in a variety of screen sizes because that gives consumers lots of choice, which is something you don’t see a lot of anymore.

Kazam says that its new hardware will be sold “across Europe,” with country-specific news expected to be announced soon. With MWC 2015 right around the corner, it may not be long before we see more of these devices
