Amazon Fire phone once again available for $199 without a contract

Earlier today I told you that Amazon is giving away 37 premium Android apps for free, but if you’d prefer some new Android hardware instead, Amazon’s got you covered as well.

The Amazon Fire phone is currently on sale for $199 unlocked and without a contract. The phone regularly sells for $449. It’s worth noting that the Amazon Fire also comes with one year of Amazon Prime, which normally costs $99 on its own.

As far as specs go, here’s what you can expect from the Amazon Fire phone:

  • 4.7-inch 1280x720 display
  • 2.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800
  • 13-megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilization
  • 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera
  • 32GB of storage
  • 2400mAh battery
  • Fire OS 3.6.8
  • Dual stereo speakers
  • HSPA+ and 4G LTE connectivity
  • HSPA+ 850, 900, 1700/2100, 1900, 2100MHz
  • LTE bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 17, 20

The Amazon Fire phone is an unlocked GSM device, and it should play nicely with AT&T, T-Mobile, and many other GSM operators. While the device didn’t exactly receive rave reviews at launch, it’s a much more enticing option at $199 contract-free, especially since you’re getting a free year of Prime and all of the benefits that come with it, including free two-day shipping and Prime Instant Video.

Are any of you going to snag a discounted Amazon Fire phone?
