AT&T Samsung Galaxy S5 update brings Android 4.4.4, HD Voice, and more

Good news, AT&T Galaxy S5 owners: You’re getting an update! Unfortunately, it’s not the same Android 5.0 update that your Verizon counterparts got yesterday.

AT&T is now pushing a 487MB update to its version of the Samsung Galaxy S5 that bumps it up to build KTU84P.G900AUCU2AOA1. Included in the update is a bump to Android 4.4.4, AT&T HD Voice support, and some “AT&T Service additions.” Here’s AT&T’s official changelog:

Android KitKat 4.4.4

  • Miscellaneous improvements, bug fixes, and security updates

HD Voice capability
AT&T Service additions:

  • Mail - ATT Mail (att.net mail)
  • AT&T Live
  • Uber
  • Remote Support

So yeah, obviously this update isn’t quite as exciting as a bump to Lollipop would be, but it does bring the newest version of KitKat and HD Voice. That’s something, right? If you’ve got an AT&T-branded Galaxy S5, you can check for this update by going into Settings > About device > Software update > Check for updates. Let us know when it arrives!
