Google Chrome for iOS update brings Material Design, iOS 8 optimizations, and more

Google has been busy updating its mobile apps with its new Material Design language, and that includes both its Android apps and its iOS ones. Today that effort continued with an update to Chrome for iOS.

The Chrome web browser app for iOS is now being updated with Material Design, bringing a fresh look to Google’s browser. The app definitely looks nicer, sporting updated icons and an overall newer feel.

In addition to adding Material Design, today’s Chrome update brings iOS 8 optimizations, support for larger phones, support for Handoff from Chrome to your default OS X browser, and some unspecified stability improvements and bug fixes.

Because lots of folks use Chrome on their desktop or laptop, there are likely many people that use Chrome on their iOS device as well so that they’ve got synced history, bookmarks, and more. As a result, it’s nice to see Google refreshing Chrome with a better look, optimizations for Apple’s larger phones, and support for Mac OS X features like Handoff.
