Crossy Road has become a big hit in mobile lately, with iOS owners comparing their high scores with one another since November 2014. The app made its way to Android in mid-December by launching in the Amazon Appstore, but it’s just now making its way into Google Play.
The official Crossy Road Twitter account has announced that Crossy Road is now available from Google Play. The app is 20MB and requires Android 2.3 or higher to work. The game is free to play but includes in-app purchases that can let you unlock extra characters for $0.99 each.
Crossy Road is hailed by many as one of the best mobile games of 2014, and despite the fact that my high score is only 89, I’d have to agree. For those that haven’t played, Crossy Road is a Frogger-style game that tasks you with tapping and swiping the screen to navigate your chicken (or other character) across busy highways, log-filled streams, and train tracks. It’s a simple game that can be highly addictive as you continually try to best your high score and the scores of your friends, which it cleverly shows in the world as you play.
Have you played Crossy Road? If so, what’s your high score?
