Verizon XLTE expands to 10 more markets, now in 4 of 5 LTE markets

The year may be coming to an end, but Verizon’s XLTE rollout of 2014 isn’t slowing down.

Verizon announced this morning that its XLTE network is now live in 10 new markets, including ones in California, Ohio, West Virginia, and more. The full list of newly-lit XLTE markets looks like this:

  • Chambersburg, PA
  • Charleston, WV
  • Chillicothe, OH
  • Dothan-Enterprise, AL
  • Eureka, CA
  • Hagerstown, MD
  • Hattiesburg, MS
  • La Grange, GA
  • Oskaloosa/Ottumwa, IA
  • Watertown, NY

With today’s expansion, Verizon says that its XLTE service is live in four out of five Verizon 4G LTE markets.

Verizon’s XLTE network offers double the bandwidth of its regular 4G LTE network as well as faster peak data speeds, so long as you have a compatible piece of hardware. Verizon says that it sells 33 XLTE-compatible smartphones, including most recent releases like the iPhone 6, Moto X (2nd Gen.), and HTC One (M8) for Windows.
