Just days after we learned that Sprint MVNO Ting will likely begin reselling T-Mobile’s network with its service next year, it’s been revealed that another company will soon become a T-Mobile MVNO.
Vodafone recently announced that it plans to launch a service using T-Mobile’s network in autumn 2015. The goal of the service will be to provide a U.S. cellular offering for Vodafone’s more than 400 multinational customers that are based in the U.S. as well as those that are outside of the U.S. but have a strong presence in the country.
While Vodafone could help its enterprise customers sign up for service through T-Mobile, it’s likely easier for the company just to agree to become a T-Mobile MVNO and handle all of the service for its business customers itself. And while most of us likely won’t ever deal with Vodafone’s T-Mobile MVNO, it is interesting to take note of since Vodafone used to own part of Verizon, a huge CDMA carrier, but is now going to be partnering with T-Mobile, a smaller GSM carrier.
