Apparently Google is in an update-y mood. After pushing out major updates to YouTube and Hangouts over the past week, today it began rolling a big update to Google Fit.
According to Google, the new version of Google Fit includes support for manually entering more than 100 new activities. El Goog also threw in an experimental step detection feature that can be used when your Android Wear watch is disconnected from your phone as well as some unnamed “bug fixes and performance improvements.”
This sounds like a pretty big Google Fit update. Being able to manually add more than 100 activities allows people to get much more use out of Google Fit than they did before, and the experimental Android Wear step detection means that smartwatch wearers can venture outside, leave their phone behind and still have their steps tracked.
