It’s time for another Android 5.0 update to begin rolling. This time it’s the LG G Pad 8.3 Google Play edition that’s getting a taste of Lollipop.
Many LG G Pad 8.3 Google Play edition owners are reporting that they’re now receiving an over the air update to Android 5.0. The update is a hefty one, weighing in at 405.4MB, and brings with it all of the goodies that you’d expect with a bump up to Lollipop. That includes a new Material design look, battery saving mode, notifications on your lock screen and more.
Over the air software updates typically roll out in batches, so it may take a day or two for Android 5.0 to hit your LG G Pad 8.3 GPe. The good news is that if you don’t feel like waiting, you can flash the update yourself using the update ZIP file. And if you’d rather wait, you can check out our Nexus 7 (2013) Android 5.0 hands on video right here to get an idea of what Lollipop looks like on a tablet.
