There are all kinds of goodies hitting Google Play recently. After the Sony SmartWatch 3 and ASUS ZenWatch made their debut in Google’s online shop, a new tablet has appeared as well.
The Project Tango tablet is now live in Google Play. The slate is just like the one that Google showed off back in June, rocking a 7.02-inch 1920x1200 IPS display, Tegra K1 processor, 128GB of storage, 4GB of RAM, microSD card slot, 4960mAh battery and Android 4.4.2 KitKat. Both the black and white versions are included in the listing.
That’s a pretty beastly tablet, no? Unfortunately, it’s not available for purchase, with the product page saying that “This device is not for sale at this time.” Considering that Google has previously said that the Project Tango tablet will cost $1,024, though, I’m guessing that this thing is only going to sell to a handful of developers anyway.
Project Tango’s goal is to help us sense depth, motion and more using its two cameras and then produce 3D images and maps. While it remains to be seen exactly when developers will be able to buy Project Tango, they shouldn’t have a difficult time doing so if the slate is indeed made available through the Play store.
