The HTC RE camera will officially go up for sale later this week, and so it’s good to see that the companion app for HTC’s new standalone camera has officially launched.
The HTC RE app is now available for download in the Google Play store. HTC has said that it will offer an iOS app as well, but I’m not seeing it in the App Store as of this writing.
HTC’s RE app lets you remotely control your RE camera with your phone, complete with a live viewfinder. Once your phone and RE camera are paired, you can also share photos and videos taken with the RE directly to social networks like Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, et al.
The HTC RE camera app is only going to be useful to folks that buy the HTC RE camera, but hey, it’s good to see that the app is available ahead of the launch of the camera itself. HTC hasn’t said when we can expect to see its HTC RE app for iOS, but with the camera launching in the coming weeks, hopefully the app is getting close too.
