Fleksy announces version 3.3 Android app update, limited time sale

If Fleksy is your third-party keyboard of choice on Android, you’ll want to keep an eye out on the Google Play store today, because the Fleksy app is getting a nice update that you’ll want to snag as soon as possible.

Fleksy has pinged us to announce version 3.3 of its Android app. Included in the update is a keyboard layout update that adjusts the placement of the backspace and shift key, improved accuracy, bug fixes and more. Fleksy’s release notes look like this:

  • New Backspace and Shift key layout
    • A much-requested keyboard layout update. Disable Legacy Button Layout under Advanced Settings to move the shift and backspace keys to the bottom letter row.
  • Minimal Layout language selection
    • It’s now easier to change languages when in Minimal layout — tap and hold on letters, and slide to the next or previous language buttons.
  • Improved accuracy
    • Fleksy’s engine has been improved to provide smarter word correction.
  • Bug fixes
    • Squashed bugs related to swiping, punctuation and spacebar.

Fleksy also announced that it’s secured a $2 million venture capital round from Digital Garage, Middleland Capital, Highland Capital Partners, Militello Capital and other unnamed partners. The keyboard maker says that its Android app has garnered more than 2 million downloads since its launch in December 2013 and that its iOS 8 keyboard has hit No. 1 in the App Store in 25 countries.

In celebration of its new Android update and its iOS popularity, Fleksy is discounting its keyboard app to $0.99 through Friday, October 31. Links to the Android and iOS apps are available below.
