It seems like Google Now is always learning new tricks. So far in 2014 we’ve seen Google now gain a bill reminder card, a public transit alarm and much more. Now it looks like Android’s assistant has gained yet another new feature.
Reddit users have started to see a Police Activity card appear in their Google Now feeds. The card appears when there’s some police activity near you, telling you where and when the incident occurred and some details on what’s going on. In the two screenshots above, the right alert is from a newer version of the Google Search app than the one in the left screenshot.
A police activity card likely isn’t one that most people would think of when coming up with useful new Google Now add-ons, but it could come in handy. The card could get you to keep an eye out for information that would help the police or it could give you a reason to take shelter for a while.
There’s no word on any kind of Google Search update that enables this feature, so unfortunately for those of you that like to be on the bleeding edge, you may have to wait for Google to turn the feature on on its end.
What’s your favorite Google Now feature? Can you think of any cards that you’d like to see added?
