If you preordered an iPad Air 2 or iPad mini 3 last week, you may be getting your device as soon as tomorrow.
Apple has begun shipping its new tablets out to preorder customers. Many folks are being told that their unit will arrive on October 23, but some lucky buyers are expected to receive their shiny new iOS hardware tomorrow, October 22.
How soon you receive your iPad will depend on how quickly you clicked the “Buy” button when preorders opened last week. I placed an order around half an hour after preorders began and my unit is expected to be delivered on October 27. Apple’s online store says that new orders will ship in 2-4 business days.
In other iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3 news, T-Mobile today announced that it’ll begin accepting preorders for both models tomorrow, October 22. The 16GB versions of both the iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3 will be priced at $0 down, while the 64GB and 128GB units will require down payments of $99.99 and $199.99, respectively. Meanwhile, any iPad Air 2 unit will come with 24 monthly payments of $26.24 each, while the iPad mini 3 models will include 24 payments of $22.08 apiece.
T-Mo also notes that customers can add their new iPad to a Simple Choice plan for an additional $10 per month. For that price, T-Mobile will match their existing smartphone data plan for the tablet up to 5GB, meaning that your tablet will have its own data bucket that’s separate from your phone.
