Motorola Nexus 6 expected to be announced by Google this month

All of the Motorola Nexus 6 leaks and rumors that we’ve seen to date make it difficult to doubt the device’s existence, but just in case you need more evidence that another new Nexus smartphone is on its way, I’m happy to provide it.

The Wall Street Journal says that Google will introduce a new Motorola-made Nexus smartphone in October. The device — which is codenamed “Shamu” — will reportedly feature a 5.9-inch display and will ship alongside “a new version” of Android.

So there you have it. Google launched the Nexus 5 and Android KitKat in October of 2013, so it’s not terribly surprising to hear that it’s planning to roll out a new Nexus phone and Android update around the same time in 2014. The Nexus 6 is rumored to include a 5.9-inch 2560x1440 display, 13-megapixel rear and 2-megapixel front cameras and Android L. The device will reportedly sport a design similar to the Moto X (2014).

Are you thinking about picking up a Nexus 6 when it goes on sale?
