HTC hasn’t exactly had a bang-up year or so when it comes to its financials, so whenever the Taiwanese firm releases its quarterly results, there’s always a lot of interest about how it performed. Today we find out how HTC’s third quarter 2014 went.
HTC says that it pulled in an unaudited quarterly revenue of NT$41.86 billion ($1.37 billion USD) and an operating profit of NT$0.16 billion ($5.25 million USD) in Q3 2014. Meanwhile, HTC’s net profit before and after tax finished at NT$0.64 billion ($21 million USD).
To compare, HTC posted a revenue of NT$47.05 billion ($1.54 billion USD) and a net loss of NT$2.97 billion ($97.5 million USD) in Q3 2013. In Q2 2014, HTC’s profit finished at NT$2.26 billion ($74.1 million USD).
Overall it looks like HTC had itself a decent Q3 2014. It performed much better than it did in Q3 2013, and while its numbers weren’t quite as impressive as they were in Q2 2014, that’s likely due to the fact that the One (M8) had quite a bit of heavy smartphone competition.
