Motorola has been known to update the boot animation on devices like the Moto X and Moto G to celebrate big events, like for the start of spring or the kick-off of the World Cup. The autumn season recently kicked off for half of the globe, and so Motorola has pushed a new boot animation in response.
The new boot animation features a beige, autumn-like Motorola logo followed by an animal of some kind — maybe a squirrel? — swinging onto a tree branch and diving into a pile of leaves. One of the leaves flies away and then floats around the Motorola logo for the remainder of the boot-up sequence.
Often when Motorola sends out a new boot animation, Moto X owners must update their Motorola Boot Services app to get it. That doesn’t appear to be the case this time around, though, as I simply shut down my Moto X, restarted it and was treated to the new animation.
While this new boot animation doesn’t add any functionality to the phone, it’s a nice little touch that shows that Motorola is paying to attention to its users. If you’re rocking a recent Motorola device like the Moto X, reboot your phone and see if you’ve gotten the new animation too!
