The Motorola Nexus 6 seems to be following the usual trend of smartphone leaks pretty well. First we got a purported spec leak, then a photo of its back, then a shot of its front and, most recently, we shared a nice-looking mockup and a full spec sheet. Now a clear photo of what may be the Nexus 6 in the wild has leaked.

A purported image of the Motorola Nexus 6 being used on a bus has surfaced. The device is inside of a thick snap-on case, so we can’t make out too many details about the hardware, but we can see the centered side lock and volume buttons and front-facing speakers that’ve been included in previous rumors. We can also see what appear to be those new Android L status bar icons.

Based on what we can see in this image, the Nexus 6 does appear to be a larger Moto X. It’s got curved corners, software navigation buttons and a headphone jack on its top. It’s also got some markings in its corners (which have been blurred to protect the identity of the owner) that suggest that it’s a prototype Motorola device.

So while it’s still unclear whether or not this is indeed the Motorola Nexus 6, the device does line up with what we expect to see from the next Nexus smartphone. As the folks at Android Police note, the Nexus 6 doesn’t look quite as large as most of us have anticipated, but it’s difficult to get a good feel for the device’s size without having another device for reference.
