In-app purchases can be a big deal for some mobile users, with the presence and pricing of those add-ons playing a big part in how much (if at all) someone decides to use an app. Soon Android users will be able to view that information before they even download an app.
Google has alerted developers that starting September 30, the price range of their in-app purchases will be displayed on the app’s Play Store page. Devs can go to the “In-app Products” page of their app in order to review the pricing and publishing status of their add-ons.
In-app purchases have been a hot topic in mobile for some time now, with some “freemium” apps charging high prices for their add-on content and other apps making it too easy for children to charge expensive purchases to their parents’ accounts. Once this Play Store tweak rolls out, Android users can be aware of an app’s in-app purchases before they download and avoid any unwanted purchases completely.
