The Moto 360 is currently available in two variants — silver and black — but it looks like that number could expand to three in the future.
A promotional email was sent out by Motorola recently that showed five Moto 360 watch faces. As you can see in the image above, two are silver, two are black and one is gold. Yep, gold.
When Motorola was contacted about the mysterious gold 360, the company quietly yanked the gold unit, resulting in what you see in the left promo image below. It then retooled the layout to make it look like it hadn’t just pulled a fifth watch face. Finally, the company issued a brief response to the gold watch query, saying that it “can’t comment on gold specifically” but that it’s “always exploring new materials” and that it plans to offer several Moto 360 styles in the future.
Because nothing is official until Motorola says that it is, you shouldn’t get your hopes up for a gold Moto 360 quite yet. That said, gold hardware has been a pretty big trend in mobile lately, and gold watches are also a thing. Those two facts could lead Motorola to launching a gold Moto 360 in the future as a way to get a nice boost in consumer interest in the Moto 360.
Would you buy a gold Moto 360 if Motorola offered one?
