Cricket to offer increased high-speed data allotments starting September 13

Less than a month after kicking off a $100 switcher promotion aimed at T-Mobile and MetroPCS customers, Cricket today announced a new offer that’s intended for everyone.

Starting September 13, Cricket will begin offering bigger high-speed data allotments to both new and existing customers. The $40 500MB plan will be bumped up to 1GB, the $50 2.5GB plan will increase to 3GB and the $60 5GB plan will be doubled to 10GB. Cricket also notes that customers that set up Auto Pay for their account will receive a $5 monthly credit.

In this age of tiered data plans and high-speed data buckets, it’s exciting to see a carrier offer increased data buckets to both new and existing users. Cricket hasn’t revealed exactly how long this promo will last, saying only that it’ll be available “for a limited time,” so you folks that’ve been thinking about jumping to Cricket may want to do so soon. Existing Cricket customers will automatically get their high-speed data allotments bumped up during their next bill cycle.
