Just a day after announcing a quadruple data add-on for its Simple Starter plan, T-Mobile today said that it’s got a couple more plan changes up its sleeve.
Starting Sept. 3, T-Mobile customers will be able to add a tablet to any postpaid Simple Choice plan for an additional $10 per month. Once they do, T-Mo will match their smartphone data allotment with an additional reserve for their tablet. For example, if you’ve got 5GB of LTE data for your phone, you’ll be able to pa $10 per month and get 5GB for your tablet as well.
T-Mobile also notes that it’s still running its Tablets Un-leashed promo as well. With that offer, customers will get 200MB of free LTE data every month for the life of their slate.
Additionally, T-Mobile plans to expand its family plans. Beginning tomorrow, Aug. 27, T-Mobile Simple Choice customers can have up to 10 lines on a family plan, with lines 2 through 10 priced at $10 per month. As it stands now, family plans can only hold up to 5 lines per account.
T-Mobile and Sprint have been trading blows in the form of plan tweaks over the past few weeks. Sprint has announced its new Family Share Pack and its $60 Unlimited Plan, and in response T-Mo has altered its Simple Starter plan and then announced these two new offerings. Sure, it’s a lot of changes to digest in a short period of time, but these tweaks are also good for us consumers. Hooray, competition!
