Samsung recently announced its newest earnings, and while that batch of sales figures and revenue totals may not be interesting to everyone, a company executive dropped some hints about upcoming devices that most mobile fans will likely want to know about.
Kim Hyun-Joon, an SVP of Samsung’s mobile business, has teased that Samsung will launch one new device with a large display and another that’ll feature “new materials.” He didn’t go into any other details about these products.
So what might Kim be referring to? Well, the large screen device is almost assuredly the next Galaxy Note smartphone. Samsung has unveiled its new Galaxy Note handsets at IFA in Berlin over the past several years, and it seems likely that we’ll see the Galaxy Note 4 in early September.
As for the “new materials” product, that could be a hint about the Galaxy Alpha that’s leaked lately. The Alpha features a metal band around its outer edge, and since Samsung’s products are primarily made of plastic, the Alpha’s metal ring could be considered a “new material” for Samsung.
Are you looking forward to the Galaxy Note 4 or Galaxy Alpha? What features do you hope to see included in these upcoming Galaxy smartphones?
