Nokia introduced its Z Launcher in mid-June, giving Android users a new launcher that aimed to learn from a person’s habits and try to predict the apps that he or she will need throughout the day. Only a small group of beta testers have been able to check Z Launcher out over the past month, but now more users are going to get to give this new app a try.
Nokia has announced that it’s now admitting more users into the “pre-beta” Z Launcher test. If you previously applied to join the beta test but didn’t make the first cut, you may now be able to give Z Launcher a go. Simply click here to validate your email address, and if your account is indeed part of the trail, you’ll be able to download Z Launcher.
In addition to expanding the Z Launcher trial, Nokia is pushing out a new version of its app. Nokia says that it’s rolled several user-requested features into the update and that it plans to continue to do so in the future. As for the current update, here’s what you Z Launcher testers can expect from it:
If you’re using Z Launcher and haven’t yet updated, you can do so by checking the app’s settings or just waiting for Z Launcher to notify you.
It’s great to see Nokia responding directly to user suggestions to make Z Launcher better and improving compatibility with popular devices like the HTC One and Moto X. Here’s to hoping that it’s not much longer before the Z Launcher beta is open to all, because this third-party launcher definitely looks like an interesting third-party launcher option.
Have any of you been admitted into the Z Launcher pre-beta? If so, what do you think of the app so far?
