It’s certainly been a while since we’ve seen any new Windows Phone hardware from HTC, but according to a Microsoft executive, that could change very soon.
Speaking at Computex in Taiwan, Microsoft’s Nick Parker said that his company “will continue to have a great relationship with HTC.” Parker added that “new things are coming,” but didn’t go into any further details.
It’s possible that Parker is referring to the rumored HTC W8 that we heard about earlier this week. The W8 is said to be a Windows Phone 8.1 device that features BoomSound front-facing speakers and a Duo Camera setup. The rest of the W8’s spec list isn’t yet known, but CNET suggests that it could be a mid-range offering.
In addition to teasing new HTC hardware, Microsoft today showed off a trio of new Windows Phone products from new members of the WP ecosystem. Those include the Prestigio MultiPhone 8500 — which will be offered in single-SIM and dual-SIM models — the YEZZ Billy 4.7 and a new handset from BLU that will sport a 5-inch display and be sold in several different colors.
