Google’s got some good news today for sports fans who also happen to own a Chromecast: the Big G’s streaming stick now has the ability to cast some major sports programming to your TV.
Google just announced that Chromecast support is now included with the WatchESPN app, allowing consumers that are signed up for ESPN through their cable subscription to cast content to their TV, including all 64 World Cup games. Additionally, the MLS Matchday app has gained Chromecast support for even more soccer football goodness.
Not into sports? That’s ok, because Google’s got another new Chromecast feature that everyone can enjoy. Chromecasters can now send their Google+ photos and videos to their display using the Google+ app for Android and iOS. Finally, support for Crunchyroll and its anime video lineup has been added.
The Chromecast has been around for a while now, having debuted back in July 2013 along with the new Nexus 7. The good news is that Google continues to add new features to it and content providers are continually adding Chromecast support to their apps, giving buyers of the little $35 stick more bang for their buck.
