This past week, YouTube announced its plans to offer a more efficient experience for content creators everywhere. The update comes at a time when more videos are being generated and viewed than ever before, so it's no surprise that YouTube is reaching to the people and groups that keep the site running.
According to a video published by YouTube Creators, the YouTube mobile app will be a main focus of the new initiative. Up until this point, the app has been a great tool for viewing clips on the video site, but it's lacked the tools necessary to effectively manage channels on the go. YouTube says that it's stepping up to the plate gaining insight and feedback from its top content contributors to enhance its mobile experience.
While a mobile app update will be fantastic for those looking to manage their channels from their smartphone, YouTube is looking to improve other areas that benefit content creators as well. The company says that it's working to create a direct-to-creator fan-funding option, to improve the comments hub, to offer fan-contributed captions and to provide more royalty-free audio and music-generating capabilities.
YouTube has only given us a preview as to what they’re thinking about doing, but the fact that the company appears to be moving toward a more efficient experience for its content creators is a great thing. These changes will help creators both big and small and enhance the viewing experience as well.
