When Motorola introduced the Moto G late last year, the device was praised for having a respectable feature set — including a 4.5-inch 720p display and quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor — as well as an affordable starting price of $179. The one glaring omission from the Moto G is its lack of 4G LTE connectivity, but if a new Amazon listing is to be believe, Motorola may soon correct that issue.
Two product entries for Moto G units with “Universal LTE” have been spotted on Amazon. The listings are for black and white versions of the device, and while there’s no image for the black variant, there is an image of a white unit that we’ve never seen before. Both devices are listed at $219.99 and are expected to ship on June 30.
At this time, it’s tough to know exactly which details of this LTE-capable Moto G are legit and which aren’t. We haven’t heard Motorola make any mention about an LTE version of the Moto G, but the fact that these listings have been made by Amazon seem to suggest that the retailer might know something.
It’s worth noting that Motorola is holding an event tomorrow, May 13, and while the company is expected to formally introduce the low-cost Moto E there, it’s certainly possible that an LTE Moto G announcement could be slipped in as well.
