Now that the HTC One (M8) is on store shelves, many have turned their attention to the next major device that HTC is expected to crank out, the HTC One mini 2. HTC hasn’t made any official announcements regarding a shrunken version of the One (M8), but thanks to the rumor mill, we don’t have to wait for Peter Chou and Co. to get on stage to get a look at the One mini 2.
An image that purportedly shows off the HTC One mini 2 in gray, silver and gold has been posted by @evleaks. The render shows a smartphone with a design that’s extremely similar to the One (M8), but there are a few big differences that are worth pointing out. For example, the One mini 2 lacks the Duo Camera setup of its big sibling, and it also only has a single LED flash compared to the dual LED flash of the One (M8). The One mini 2 also appears to have a plastic rim around the outer edge of its face, similar to the original One mini.
No spec details for the HTC One mini 2 are included in today’s leak, but a previous rumor claimed that the “HTC M8 mini” would feature a 4.5-inch 720p display, 13-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front cameras, a quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor and Android 4.4.2 with Sense 6. While those features can’t quite hold a candle to those found in the flagship One (M8), the One mini 2 could still be a respectable option for those folks that want a One (M8)-like design in a smaller package.
Now that we’re getting a good look at the HTC One mini 2, what do you all think of it? Anyone looking forward to this thing hitting the market?
