Sprint's HD Voice is currently only available in a handful of markets like Jacksonville, Fla., and Provo, Utah, but according to CEO Dan Hesse, the service is going to see a major expansion later this year.
Speaking at the Oracle Industry Connect conference yesterday, Hesse revealed that Sprint plans to roll out its HD Voice service across the country in July. "We'll launch the entire country around the first of July," Hesse explained.
While Sprint's HD Voice footprint may be small right now, it's got a fairly sizable lineup of devices that support the feature. That list includes:
That lengthy list means that there's likely quite a few Sprint customers that'll get their first taste of HD Voice when the service goes nationwide in July. While it's kind of a bummer for Sprint customers that their carrier was unable to spread HD Voice to more locales last year like it had wanted, it's worth noting that that feature isn't exactly widespread among the other major carriers, with T-Mobile being the only one with a significant HD Voice footprint.
