OnePlus has been sharing the details of its upcoming One smartphone in a steady trickle over the past several weeks, and today that stream of information continues to flow. Rather than give us another tidbit related to the RAM or some software feature, though, OnePlus has revealed a design detail of the One.
OnePlus CEO Pete Lau announced today that the OnePlus One will feature StyleSwap covers that will be available in several different textures and will allow users to personalize their device while also protecting it. StyleSwap covers will be available with Silk, Sandstone, Denim, Bamboo and Kevlar textures, and the final three will actually be made with their own real materials.
Many consumers turn to cases when they want to protect and personalize their smartphone, but OnePlus has opted to offer these StyleSwap covers as an alternative to cases that won't cover up the design of the phone itself. While OnePlus doesn't have quite as many customization options as Motorola offers with Moto Maker or its Moto G shell cases, these StyleSwap covers are still a welcome feature, especially since there's a decent variety of textures available to choose from. Now we just have to wait and find out how much these things will cost.
