SwiftKey has officially made its way onto iOS! The only thing is that it's not exactly the SwiftKey that you may be thinking of. SwitftKey today announced its new SwiftKey Note app for iOS, a note-taking application that utilizes the company's word prediction technology to make banging out notes quicker and easier. The app includes next-word suggestions right above the keyboard and learns from a user's typing habits to offer a more personalized auto-correction than what's found in other apps.
When it comes to the actual note-taking portion of the app, SwiftKey Note allows users to organize their thoughts into notebooks and also includes tagging support so that notes can be found more easily after they're taken down. The app syncs with Evernote so that users can access their notes on other devices, and notes can also be shared using AirDrop, Messages, Mail and Copy to Clipboard.
SwiftKey is widely regarded as one of the best third-party keyboards available on Android, and so obviously it's pretty exciting to see the same word prediction and auto-correct technology make its way to the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. Unfortunately, Apple's rules concerning iOS and keyboards mean that users can only use SwiftKey's keyboard within the SwiftKey Note app. Having access to the SwiftKey keyboard some of the time is certainly better than not having it at all, though, and with its word prediction tech as well as its Evernote syncing, SwiftKey Note could become the go-to note-taking app for many iOS users.
SwiftKey Note is a free app and can be downloaded from the iOS App Store right here. If you'd like to see the app in action before you download, you can check out the brief promo video below.
