A little under a month after AT&T's version of the Nokia Lumia 1020 received its Lumia Black update, another AT&T-branded Lumia model has turned Black. AT&T has announced that it's now rolling out the Windows Phone 8 GDR3/Lumia Black combo update to its flavor of the Nokia Lumia 925. The 220MB update brings the Lumia 925 up to firmware version 3051.40000.1347.0001 and includes the following changes:
While there aren't really any earth-shattering new features to be found in the GDR3/Lumia Black update, it is chock full of nice little tweaks and improvements that ought to please any Lumia 925 owners that didn't update early through the developer preview. One example is the screen rotation lock, which is a small addition that I'm sure will be a huge deal for a lot of Windows Phone users.
If you're rocking an AT&T-branded Lumia 925 that hasn't yet been updated to Lumia Black, you can check for the update manually by connecting to Wi-Fi and then hitting up Settings > Phone update > Check for update. As I mentioned before, this is a spiffy little update for Lumia owners, so you 925 folk that haven't yet installed it may want to take a break from whatever you're doing, fire up your phone's Settings menu and get to downloadin'. You'll be glad you did.
