AT&T and Samsung have been buddy-buddy for quite a while now. AT&T was the first carrier to offer the original Samsung Galaxy Note in the U.S., and the two companies have teamed up on products like the Samsung Focus, Focus 2 and Galaxy S4 Active since then. Now a new report claims that Ol' Blue and Sammy's close relationship will soon continue with the release of a new Galaxy Note product.
According to a tweet from prolific product revealer @evleaks, a device known as the "Samsung Galaxy Note Pro" is AT&T-bound. The product is said to carry the model number SM-P907A, but unfortunately for the more curious among us, that's the only tidbit of Note Pro information contained in today's leak.
So what exactly might this Galaxy Note Pro be? Well, if the model number is accurate, it may be a tablet device. The Galaxy Note 10.1 - 2014 Edition carries a similar model number of SM-P600, while the Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 feature slightly different model numbers that are SM-N900 and SM-T310, respectively. A recent rumor suggested that Samsung is prepping a new Galaxy Note Pro-branded tablet with a 12.2-inch display, a feature that would certainly seem to fit the "Pro" descriptor, as well as 32GB storage and 3GB RAM.
Samsung has shown that it's not afraid to release mobile hardware in multiple screen sizes. Right now it's got tablets with screens that measure in at 7, 8 and 10.1 inches in size, and it's previously rolled out models with 7.7-inch and 8.9-inch displays as well. There haven't been many tablets released with displays larger than 10 inches in size, but Samsung is one company that I could certainly see releasing such a product, and I'm betting that there are at least a few folks out there that would like to take Samsung's S Pen to a large 12.2-inch canvas.
There's no word yet on when the Galaxy Note Pro may be making its way to AT&T, but the rumor mill has claimed that Samsung could introduce at least one variant of the device within the first three months of 2014, so it may not be long before we learn more about this giganto-tablet. Stay tuned.
